I’m an assistant professor of transnational modernist literatures in the Department of English at the University of Detroit Mercy, where I teach courses on transnational modernisms, African American literature, multi-ethnic US literature, and criticism and theory. I currently have two research projects: one on modernist visualizations of US empire and the other on the social and political thought of Zora Neale Hurston. I was formerly a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Nevada, Reno. I completed my PhD in the Department of English at the University of Southern California.
