I’m an assistant professor in the Department of English at the University of Detroit Mercy, where I teach courses on transnational modernisms, African American literature, multi-ethnic US literature, and criticism and theory. I am currently working on two research projects: one on visualizations of history in US modernism (under contract with Oxford UP) and the other on the social and political thought of Zora Neale Hurston (under contract with Polity). I was formerly a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Nevada, Reno. I completed my PhD at the University of Southern California.
